Vegan Chicken Onion Steak Sandwich

You all know those weird looking chicken things that they have in HOCO every damn day?  I get pretty creative with these sometimes.

Ingredients:

  • Vegan chicken patty
  • Grilled onion steak
  • Hamburger buns
  • Tomato
  • Pickles
  • Lettuce
  • Various condiments

Directions:

Get all the ingredients and put em together!  The important part about this recipe is the onion steak.  Most of you probably walk by those things and make a face like some liberal arts major told you their after-college ‘plans’.  I suggest you try them; though the HOCO grill has been known to serve some weird shit (grilled lettuce anyone?), onion steaks are not nearly as weird as they sound.  This chicken in the picture had broccoli and cheese on it already, so it made it extra good.  I usually take the middle out of the onion steak and put chopped pickles or corn or whatever in the hole.  All of these ingredients can be found on the far left side of HOCO, where the pizza and grilled things are.  Do something cool and send us your vegan chicken sandwich recipe!

Reese’s Puffs Sundae

This is the best.  When you make this, people will look at you like you are some sort of dining hall wizard and will fear your great power.  However, with great power comes great responsibility, so try not to eat too much of this in one sitting.

Ingredients:

  • Reese’s Puffs cereal
  • Vanilla frozen yogurt
  • Hershey’s chocolate syrup
  • Peanut butter
  • Chocolate chips

Directions:

Fill your bowl about half full with Reese’s Puffs.  Flatten them or line the sides of the bowl with them using your fingers.  Get a second bowl and put a few scoops of peanut butter in it.  Throw that in the microwave for about a minute.  While you’re doing that, fill the middle of your cereal bowl with vanilla frozen yogurt (chocolate or twist works too) and top with chocolate syrup.  Take your peanut butter out of the microwave (it will be very hot!) and drizzle the melted peanut butter on top of your ice cream.  Top with chocolate chips and chocolate syrup.  Then eat that shit and be the envy of everyone within reach of its beautiful wafting aroma.

Vegetable Garlic Mac n’ Cheese

This isn’t quite a “recipe” per se, but it’s a really easy way to combine a few foods in the dining hall to create a good tasting bowl of stuff.

Ingredients:

  • Plain macaroni and cheese
  • Garlic green beans
  • Oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Crushed red pepper
  • Garlic powder

Place macaroni and cheese on a bed of green beans.  Feel free to get creative with the vegetables, but the vegetables cooked with garlic will be the best.  Season with oregano, crushed red pepper, and a little bit of garlic powder.  Easy!  Tasty!  Doesn’t suck!

We are going to have some real recipes up soon so stay tuned!

Citrus Spritzer

This is a really delicious and easy drink to make if Powerade just isn’t cutting it.

  • Sprite
  • Mango Guava Passion Fruit Juice
  • Raspberry Lemonade
  • Orange Juice

Fill the cup half full with Sprite.  Then add the mango guava juice, and leave about 3/4” of the cup empty.  Splash raspberry lemonade and orange juice on top.  Add ice and stir.

Aaaaand that’s it.  It’s good!
